Place: Miri, Sarawak (28 May 2012 - 1 Jun 2012)This extreme sport adventure will brings you to explore the remote part of Borneo through rugged terrain and treacherous off-road conditions. Discover the lost world of Borneo and visit villages perched high on mountain ranges. To make this expedition extra special and exciting, the journey will include Sabah, Sarawak, Kalimantan and Brunei Darussalam as part of the 1Borneo Destination.
Place: Pekan Lawas, Limbang, Sarawak (31 May 2012 - 2 Jun 2012)
This 3-day rice harvest festival is celebrated by Lun Bawang, one of the Orang Ulu ethnic groups in Limbang district. It will showcase their rich heritage and cultural events such as Ruran Ulung, the native beauty pageant and Nguip Suling, the band that plays the bamboo musical instrument.

Gawai Dayak is a grand festival to mark the end of rice-harvesting season and to usher in another year of bountiful harvest. It was officially celebrated on 1st of June 1965 to symbolized unity, aspiration and hope for the Dayak community. This merry festival is steeped in tradition with the customary observance of rituals which starts on 31st of May, the eve of the festival. A ceremony will be perform to cast away the bad spirits and to thank their God for the good harvesting season.
Place: Limbang, Sarawak (3 Jun 2012 - 5 Jun 2012)
This buffalo race festival is a significant event to the Bisaya community, one of the Orang Ulu ethnic groups in Limbang. The aim of this festival is to promote tourism in this small village by showcasing their culture and tradition. Local villagers gets the opportunity to display their skills in handling the wild beast while maintaining their balance and winning the race.
Place: Sibu Town Square, Sarawak (6 Jul 2012 - 16 Jul 2012)
This week long festival will showcase interesting cultural performances, traditional games, varieties of local native food, trade and exhibtion of different races and ethnic groups in Sibu community. This annual festival has become Sibu's biggest tourism event.

In conjunction with the Muslim fasting month, Bazaar Ramadhan is visible in every state of Malaysia and visited by all walks of life and races. This is the time to sample the wide variety of local food and beverages on sale throughout the month.
Borneo International Yachting Challenge
Place: Miri Marina, Sarawak (21 Jul 2012 - 27 Jul 2012)This international yachting event is a joint effort between the two Borneo states in Malaysia with the Federal Territory of Labuan and its neighbouring country, Brunei Darussalam.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is celebrated by Muslims all around the world to mark the end of Ramadhan or the fasting month. All over the country, colourful little lights illuminate the night in every Malay houses and villages as part of preparation to usher in the Syawal. The highlight of this joyous occassion is the Open House where everyone is invited to a person's home regardless of race and religious background.
Borneo International Kite Festival
Place: Bintulu, Sarawak (26 Sep 2012 - 30 Sep 2012)During this five-day event, Bintulu skies will be filled with a spectacular display of kites in various forms, colours and shapes. This annual kite festival has attracted participation from international competitors as they compete with the highly skilled local kite flyers to win the title and attractive prizes.
Place: Miri Sports Complex, Sarawak (1 Oct 2012 - 30 Nov 2012)
For two whole months, locals and foreign tourists will get the opportunity to appreciate the traditional games played in the olden days. The objective of this sports event is to preserve this traditional games and popularise it among the younger generation.
Place: Miri City Centre, Sarawak (8 Dec 2012)
Come and celebrate this joyous occassion with the aim of promoting it as one of Miri signature events. Jointly organised by Miri City Council and churches in Miri, this street parade will cover all the main streets in the city.
